With the success of last year’s event, teens from across the state are getting set for their chance to perform in front of thousands of people at LOUD, the City of Allen’s Battle of the Bands competition! The three-round music competition is geared towards local and regional bands with members under the age of 21. Bands selected for the finals will compete on the main stage at the 13th Annual Allen USA Celebration held on June 28 at Celebration Park. All genres of music are welcome, including but not limited to pop, country, rock, gospel, reggae, R&B and hip-hop.

Just 20 bands will be selected. Registration is available now through Friday, May 2, at the Edge @ Allen Station Youth Center.

"LOUD has been particularly successful in the first couple of years," said Tim Dentler, Director of Allen Parks and Recreation. "We look forward to seeing this year’s crop of talented bands as the competition is sure to have a broad appeal to teens throughout the state."

The winning band will receive a professionally-shot photo session, five hours of recording studio time and a showcase concert to be held at The Edge Youth Center. Each band member will also receive a trophy. Second and third place finishers will receive a single trophy and all performers participating will receive a certificate of participation for their band.

To register, visit www.allenparks.org to download an application and submit it along with a band photo, an audio file of the performance material (including a hard copy of desired song lyrics), a $30 registration fee or $35 from May 2-9, copies of each band member’s photo ID and release form.
