The Adult Athletics Division has expanded its offerings with a new league just in time for fall. Enjoy your favorite school yard game and sign up for the new co-recreational kickball league. It’s a great way to stay in shape while enjoying a little friendly competition—all at an exceptional price. League play begins on August 27 and registration is $340 per team. So companies get your employees ready to go and parents gather up those teens. All participants must be 15 years and older to play. For more information about athletic leagues, call 214-509-4810.

Chase Oaks Golf Club introduces a series of dances for adults with disabilities, each with a different theme. Enjoy refreshments and music provided by a D.J. A photographer will be on-hand to capture the memories. Each participant will also have the opportunity to win door prizes. Participants requiring assistance must be accompanied by an assistant. The first dance takes place on Friday, October 19 from 7-10 p.m. Participants are encouraged to RSVP by Friday, September 28. For more information, please contact Tiffany Robertson at 972-517-7777.

Getting bored with the same routine? Having a hard time staying motivated? Then stop by the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium to learn about the new triathlon club. Workouts are fun and diverse and you will have a community of people that will be there to help you meet your goals. All age groups and ability levels are welcome. Monthly clinics will be designed with the beginner in mind and to help you tackle your goals. This club is brand new so come be a part of a new tradition here in Allen. Call the natatorium at 214-509-4775 to find out more! First club meeting is October 8 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and will introduce workout schedules, clinics, events and club T-shirts.

For the ultimate card player, Allen Parks and Recreation offers Texas Hold’em on Sundays at Chase Oaks Golf Club. Hold’em is the most popular poker variant played in casinos in the United States, and its no-limit betting form is used in the main event of the World Series of Poker, as seen on ESPN, widely recognized as the world championship of the game. Compete in a faux-tournament using professional cards and chips—there is absolutely no gambling allowed. However, door prizes will be given out. To register, call 972-517-7777.

If you’re looking to get fit or stay in shape this fall, don’t forget about the great fitness classes offered through Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium and the Joe Farmer Recreation Center. Classes include Pilates and Yoga, along with general aerobic workout classes and classes that combine both cardiovascular and strength training routines.

Water fitness classes at the natatorium include both deep and shallow water aerobics along with combination classes involving stretching, toning and relaxations. Special classes for senior adults are also available.

For more information, call the natatorium at 214-509-4770 or the recreation center at 214-509-4750.
